BARIATRIC SURGERY COSTS AT MERCY
Not only is the decision to have weight loss surgery one that most people take years to make, the costs associated with this medical procedure may seem a bit overwhelming. The good news, however, is that most insurance companies cover bariatric surgery today because it may lead to long-term weight loss and may reduce your risk for heart disease, diabetes and other life-threatening health problems.*
MERCY ACCEPTS MOST MAJOR INSURANCE PLANS
At Mercy Weight Management Center, we accept most insurance plans and even work with you to finance surgery privately if you don't have insurance, or your insurance plan does not cover weight loss surgery.
If you're a private-pay patient who's covering the cost of surgery yourself, we also offer a unique expedited surgical option that takes your previously unsuccessful diet and exercise attempts into account and may put you on a fast track for bariatric surgery by eliminating the need for another insurance-mandated medically supervised diet prior to surgery.
If you are pre-approved by your insurance for bariatric surgery, you may have co-pays or co-insurance costs that you will need to pay out-of-pocket. Please contact your insurance company if you have any questions about what your possible out-of-pocket costs may be.
COST OF ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES
When considering the cost of surgical weight loss, remember that plastic surgery may be necessary after your surgery to remove excess skin, lift sagging body areas (body lift) and treat stubborn fat deposits. These body contouring plastic surgery procedures are usually not covered by insurance, so you need to consider that when you're deciding to have bariatric surgery.
Mercy Weight Management Center partners with a highly experienced, board-certified plastic surgery group that offers services such as body contouring or breast enhancement. We also offer a "Savings Account" so our patients can start saving for plastic surgery procedures they might want in the future.
